David Colston

I have been working in various areas of government offices for 35 years. I spent 15 years at Birmingham City Council and onwards as an independent contractor until 2024.

I have worked for council authorities all over the UK such as Lincolnshire, Coventry, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Solihull and back also at Birmingham.

My personal ethos is that everyone deserves the chance to obtain a standard of security that enables them to enjoy life to its fullest extent, within the legal boundaries of government assistance, where processes, documents and requirements are often complicated and off-putting. I have such a feeling of satisfaction and enjoyment when I see the faces of people I have helped, in all areas of their life, smiling with relief that they have in a small way, succeeded.

Pauline Bailey

I have over 25 years of advocacy experience, supporting clients with benefits claims, tribunal appeals, drafting Lasting Power of Attorney documents, Wills, and trusts, as well as challenging hospitals on care arrangements. My diverse background in banking, insurance, retail, local authority housing, care homes, community care, and HMRC has given me a strong understanding of the UK system, including the Mental Capacity Act and employment rights.

I believe in caring for loved ones out of love, not obligation. Having managed complex care issues while looking after my own elderly parents—including successfully taking the NHS to court over inadequate care arrangements—I understand the challenges families face. I am committed to continuous learning so I can serve my clients with the highest level of expertise.

I am proud to help maintain our team’s 96% success rate across all cases. My team and I are dedicated to only taking on cases we believe we can win, ensuring that every client receives a positive outcome. This approach allows my clients to feel confident that they will always be better off with the support of DPCS Ltd and the Empowerment Resource Centre.
